One year ago...

This time last year, I was about to meet up with J for one last quiet dinner before heading to the hospital.  I could hardly believe we were about to trade one long difficult journey in for parenthood.

Now, I tear up every time I think about my little man turning one.  There was a time when I wasn't sure I'd ever get to plan a 1st birthday party.  It's tomorrow.

I've tried to savor every moment, as I know I may never have any like them again.  

I have a zillion posts I've started and then abandoned to change a diaper, round up a toy, give a cuddle, or fish dog food out of a mouth.  Maybe someday I can finish them.  For now, I'm going to enjoy being mom.
